Let's just add an EGG allergy! What am I ever going to feed this already picky child! Not to mention this eliminates a lot of Chad's and my favorite foods, like
reece's candy
pb & j's (or pb and honey)
chic-fil-a (everything is fried in peanut oil)
chocolate peanut butter bars
root beer (egg is added as a foaming agent)
I-HOP
Texas Roadhouse (pretty much just eating out in general)
potato salad
egg salad sandwiches
french toast
ranch dressing
and the list just goes on forever! (sorry for the list, I just needed to vent a little)
We took her to an Allergist last week to get her tested, and they told us she is also not allowed to have any nuts, fish, or honey. It really changes your whole life! We are both willing to make whatever sacrifices we need to for Bella to be safe and healthy, it is just letting her out our door that scares us. Any type of eating in public, or going to a friends house, or even being around other kids can be life threatening. I guess I am still in shock because this just feels like some weird joke that life is playing on me, and there is that off chance that I might wake up.
In a way, I am really glad that Bella is such a picky eater because I did not even suspect that she was allergic to eggs. I have tried to feed them to her numerous times (she won't even take a bite or spits them out if you do get them into her mouth, which she does with a lot of food). I was also making pancakes, waffles, or french toast about every other morning. I just need to get really creative with food and cook a lot more because you can't really trust processed things. Maybe we will just go all organic!! Ha ha, maybe if we were millionaires. Luckily there are egg substitutes and some web sites that I can go to for help and recipes. I am so not creative with food, so this is going to be really tough. Hopefully I can get my butt in gear and get really organized and plan out meal calendars and stuff. Wish me luck!

oh man! That does suck. But you will get through it. It will just become a part of life soon. I had a little scare with Chase thinking he might be allergic to peanuts but luckily he is not. But all those things came to my mind...
well now we cant have this and that and that and that. I feel for ya. But like I said, soon it will become a part of your life and you will barely notice it.
You poor thing! I swear everthing has egg in it...I cant imagine how you feel right now. Did the doctor say that she might outgrow these allergies or are they going to be with her for her whole life?
I will help you find yummy recpies with no egg in them :) If ever you need to vent call me and I will happily lend you my ear and shoulder to cry on from distance.
Hi. I'm Adrean's (Jess's brother) wife and I found you through your husbands myspace (Adrean and him are friends on there and I guess in real life too). Anywho, I was reading and thought I'd post a comment about this.
Gage has a dairy allergy. It is tough to make sure they don't eat anything with dairy. He has to drink soy milk. His allergies are quite as much as your daughters, but eating out or even in is hard because we love dairy.
