A Few of Casen's 1st's

First Taste of Rice Cereal. (July - 5 months old)
Chad gave Bella her first taste of solid foods, but I was too inpatient to wait until he came home.  So, I thought it would be fun if Bella gave Casen his first few bites of rice cereal.  She was all to eager to help out, and had a lot of fun being the big sister.  Casen wasn't super hungry, but he was a trooper.  It is so fun to watch their little faces try to figure out what is going on.
Bella getting ready to feed Casen a bite.
Here it comes!

Not sure what to do...

Casen Scooting. (July)
Casen started scooting, but he can only figure out how to go backwards, and somewhat by accident.  He wants to go forward so bad, but he either tries so hard and ends up going backwards, or he pulls his arms and legs up and tries to scoot just his tummy while he grunts.  It looks more like a fish out of water, or like he is trying to fly somewhere.  Lately he has started scooting himself under the couch and getting stuck.  Bella is very helpful to let me know when this happens, or I can hear him whining in frustration.  The day I took these pics though, he is happy and smiling.  He'll figure it out forward soon enough.

Under the couch.
The flapping arms.  Usually he is not smiling when he does this.

The Shirt and the Dog.
This isn't really a "first" just a funny cute thing.  This is Chad's favorite shirt that Casen has.  It is from Spencer's and it says PP - I see you've noticed my big PP.  We thought it was pretty funny, and only borderline offensive (if he was any older, it wouldn't be so funny).  Hey, he may as well brag while he can, right?

This picture is of Casen's best friend, Buster.  Casen has loved this dog from the moment he first saw it.  It is Bella's little dog that Chad's Grandma Willey bought for her.  Bella named him Buster after the dog on "My Friend's Tigger and Pooh".  Well, Casen started out by talking and cooing at it, to full blown eating it's face off.  (Now that he can crawl, he chases it around the house while Bella pulls  it!) side note: Casen is afraid of real dogs.  He cries at both of our neighbors dogs.

Crawling. (August)
For some reason I don't have any pictures of him actually crawling, but he can definitely go.  He looks so little doing it too.  He has even gotten himself into some mishief recently.  He figured out how to open the dvd player, take the dvd out, and scratch it on the floor.  I was very surprised (and somewhat impressed).  I think this is not the first time I will underestimate his "boyness" capabilities!

I love how Casen gets stuck under the couch. That reminded me that Tyson used to do the same thing. Kids are so funny!
