IsyBella

Isabella has a mind of her own, and she definitely lets you know what she thinks, even though she still doesn't talk a lot. Well anyway, here is a little history before I tell you the funny conversation I had with her. After we found out we were having a girl, we quickly picked the name Isabella. It just felt right, even when we tried to talk about other names, they never fit, so she was always an Isabella. I loved the name for a lot of reasons, mostly because it has more than one "nickname" to it. Both Chad and I have a name that can't be shortened, so we liked that her's can. And we planned on calling her Isy, in fact we did call her Isy, all during my pregnancy and when she was first born. But then one day we started calling her Bella, and now that is almost all we call her, even though that was never the plan. So, this is the conversation I had with her the other day...

Bella, as she points to us and herself: That Mom (Moh), that Daddy (Dah-ee), it's me (ih mee)
Me: Are you Isy?
Bella: No! (so I'm thinking she says no to every question, no big deal)
Me: Are you Bella?
Bella: Uh-huh (and nods her head yes with a big smile)

Well, she definitely knows who she is, and apparantly that she is not an Isy. Funny girl, but Bella does fit her. Oh, and for the record, her name has NOTHING to do with the twilight books, which I didn't read until four months ago. And I knew that Isabella was on the top ten list, but I thought that the trend would change and it would just drop off... Well apparantly, it is the number one name in the US for 2008, at least according to the article that I read... stupid Twilight books. I really didn't want to pick a name off the top ten list because our last name is Smith, but like I said, none of the other names felt right.

Isnt that the luck. I hadn't heard of anyone named Brinley. Now she has her and two others just in first grade and we have two that live in our ward. Crimeny!!! What a cute Bella you have!
